AVNC Infection Prevention and Control
Infection control is a shared responsibility in all animal care settings. This course introduces the core knowledge and practical skills needed to prevent the spread of disease between animals, people, and the environments where they interact. Across six lessons, you will learn how infections spread, how standard precautions reduce everyday risk, how to select and use personal protective equipment correctly, how to clean and manage waste safely, and how to respond when infection risk increases. Together, these lessons build a clear, practical foundation for consistent, professional infection control in animal care workplaces.
